ASTU links MoU with Africa to Silicon Valley (A2SV). A2SV is organization that aims to discover, develop, and empower the future of African tech talent. It offers a comprehensive program that covers algorithms, problem-solving, software engineering, and soft skills, equipping students for opportunities at A2SV’s partner top tech companies by improving their problem-solving skills, communication skills, and personal growth.
On
the occasion of the signing ceremony, Dr. Lemi Guta expressed his appreciation for the representatives of organization. The representative of A2SV, Mr. Emre, on his part expressed his pleasure to be to able work with ASTU. He noted that students shall work their level best to gain more skills form the opportunities they are provided with at A2SV. Dr. Lemma Beressa, CEO of the president's office highlighted the status of ASTU and potential areas of engagement for the two sides.
Thirty-five students (from the department of Computer Science and Engineering) have already joined the organization. As such the partnership has already become MoA as students have joined the training. Mr. Emre has promised that the organization will admit additional students from ASTU in the coming months. The dean of the school of Electrical Engineering and Computing Dr. Teklu Urgessa and the department head of Computer Science and Engineering, Mr. Mesfin facilitated the partnership between the two sides.
