Adama Science and Technology University (ASTU) convened a successful validation workshop for the research project entitled "Technology Need Assessment and Strategic Roadmap for the ICT, Trade, Transport and Environment sectors of Oromia Regional State" on May 2, 2025, at the Dire International Hotel in Adama, Ethiopia.

Student Service Dean

In alignment with ASTU's Vision and Mission, the Office of the Dean of Student Service is committed to providing student-centered services that foster academic success, personal development, and holistic well-being.

Under the leadership of the Vice President for Administration and Development, the Dean of Student Service oversees a dynamic team dedicated to student support, including the Vice Dean of Student Services and the Associate Dean for Student Holistic Development. Together, they focus on cultivating character, enriching the student experience, and fostering a vibrant campus culture.

The Office of the Dean of Student specifically provides:

Engineering and Maintenance Service Executive

Being accountable to the VPAD, the Engineering and Maintenance Service Executive  is responsible for the following major services in ASTU. achieve its missions and Vision.

  • Identifying the physical facility maintenance defects, preparing BoQ and drawing along with its estimated engineering cost, and supervising facility maintenance services.
  • Manage water production by operating six (6) deep water wells, distribution to service facilities, proper installation of water supply and distribution system, and maintenance of the distribution system.
  • Performing sewer system installation, maintenance and service.
  • Undertaking electric supply system installation, distribution and maintenance service, and power supply with the help of standby generators during regular power interruption.
  • Providing building maintenance and rehabilitation services, such as office partition service, door locks and glass replacement, ceiling, roof, wall, etc. maintenance and renovation activities.
  • Facilitating furniture production, assembling and disassembling and maintenance services.
  • Managing liquid wastewater treatment service with the help of ASTU’s modern wastewater treatment plant.

Peace & Security Executive

The Main Services provided by Peace & Security Executive

  • Maintaining the peace and security of the campus,
  • Ensuring that the learning process is carried out without any security problems,
  • Protecting the fixed and movable assets on the campus from theft, and destruction,
  • Bringing any crimes that occur on the campus to justice and ensuring that the criminals receive the necessary legal punishment (correction).

  • Paying salaries of academic and administrative staff on time

  • Transferring colleges’ operation budget every month
  • Paying overload and extension classes payment to teachers on time

General Service Executive

ASTU’s General Service Executive is in charge of:

  • Handling activities regarding university’s campus beautification, landscaping, cleaning and dry waste management & disposal.
  •  Providing the university’s transportation service & vehicles maintenance.
  •  Facilitating the assignment and maintenance of university’s staff members' residences and monito monitoring ring their proper utilization.
  •  Supporting the proper provision of offices to university’s staff members and assure as of properly managed and convenient for work.
  •  Facilitating the payment of service bills regarding Internet, electricity, telephone, and water and supporting  complete services. 
  •  Providing university’s duplication and photo copy services.
