Adama Science and Technology University (ASTU) convened a successful validation workshop for the research project entitled "Technology Need Assessment and Strategic Roadmap for the ICT, Trade, Transport and Environment sectors of Oromia Regional State" on May 2, 2025, at the Dire International Hotel in Adama, Ethiopia.

ASTU Hosts Training on Quality Management System Development and Implementation

From March 3 to 7, 2025, the Educational Quality Enhancement Directorate of Adama Science and Technology University (ASTU) organized a training session on Quality Management System (QMS) Development and Implementation, based on ES ISO 9001:2015. The training was held at ASTU ICT Smart Class in collaboration with the Institute of Ethiopian Standards (IES).

Dr. Feleke Yehuwalashet, Assistant to the Academic Vice President, opened the training by welcoming both trainers and the participants. He emphasized the importance of the session, reaffirming ASTU’s commitment to upholding high educational standards and its vision of achieving institutional autonomy in the near future.
Mrs. Fikraddis Jima, Director of the Educational Quality Enhancement Directorate, also extended a warm welcome to attendees and provided an overview of the training. She underscored the significance of QMS as a key priority for ASTU, stressing its role in strengthening the management and professional capacities of the university’s staff.
In his closing remarks, Dr. Teshome Abdo, Vice President for Academic Affairs, reiterated ASTU’s dedication to continuous professional development. He highlighted that a deep understanding of quality management principles, requirements, and procedures is essential for maintaining the university’s excellence and achieving its mission and vision.
