College of Humanities and Social Sciences (CoHSS), ASTU
The College of Humanities & Social Sciences administers courses that nurture the inquisitive spheres of students and as such shape the integrity of science and engineering students so as to help them think independently. The College of Humanities & Social Sciences is composed of one department and four units. These are: the department of technology Management, Social Science Unit, Humanities Unit, Language Unit and Sport Science Unit.

- Technology and Innovation Management (TIM): Offers Master’s and Ph.D. programs, Provides Economics and Management courses to undergraduate students across the university.
Academic Units and Course Responsibilities:
- Sport Science Unit: Delivers Health and Physical Fitness courses to undergraduate students across colleges,
- Humanities Unit: Offers courses such as: Civics and Ethical Education Logic and Critical Thinking, History of Ethiopia and the Horn,
- Social Science Unit: Provides: General Psychology and Life Skills Geography of Ethiopia and the Horn,
- Language Unit: Focuses on communication skills: Academic writing Oral communication Business Communication.
B. Leadership and Coordination Structure: The College is headed by the Dean. Key support roles include the following: Vice Dean for Academic Affairs, Research and Technology Transfer Coordinator, Higher Diploma Program (HDP) Coordinator- oversees pedagogical skill development for teachers, English Language Improvement Program (ELIP) Coordinator- enhances instructors’ English proficiency for teaching and research, Quality Enhancement Coordinator- ensures and maintains teaching-learning quality standards at the college level.
