In a strategic move to enhance academic quality and institutional performance, the College of Electrical Engineering and Computing (CoEEC) has signed a Key Performance Indicator (KPI) Agreement with its respective departments. The signing ceremony, held at VPAA office in the presence of Dr. Teshome Abdo, VPAA and Prof. Tegene Desalegn, Academic program Directorate Director on February 10, 2025, formalizing the commitment to achieving excellence in education, research, and administration.

The agreement was signed between Dr. Teklu Urgessa, Dean of CoEEC, and the heads of the college’s three departments:

  • Mr. Megerssa Dareje, Head, CSE Department 
  • Mr. Eshetu Tesema, Head, ECE Department 
  • Mr. Addisu Safo, Head, EPCE Department 

This KPI agreement sets measurable goals for each department, ensuring alignment with the college’s broader mission and the university’s strategic objectives. The key areas of focus include curriculum development, research productivity, student engagement, faculty performance, and industry collaboration.

During the signing Dr. Tehome has Ephesized the importance of signing the KPI and advised the college to act in accordance with the signed performance indicators bised this he has stressed that the signed KPI will determine the status of the college as well as the university. Therefore, Departments are advised to prepare anc action plan to excute the tasks and communicate with all staff memebers of each departments. 

This agreement marks a significant milestone in CoEEC’s journey toward fostering a results-driven academic culture and ensuring that all departments contribute meaningfully to the advancement of engineering education and innovation
