About CAME

Advanced manufacturing methods and engineering include research such as processing and molding techniques. Traditional and nontraditional material removal processes; Machine tool technology; Material joining; Metal casting; Laser technology; Precision engineering, inspection, metrology, and instrumentation; Manufacture of additives; Computer integrated manufacturing system; Manufacturing planning, optimization, and simulation; Considering the plans included in GTP II CAME selected the following five basic engineering research areas:

  1. Casting and toxic machining
  2. General Machining
  3. Material characterization
  4. Prototyping
  5. Modeling and simulation

Vision

  • Build a solid manufacturing environment for Ethiopia
  • Develop various manufacturing methods used in the production of parts for electric
  • Vehicles and agricultural machinery
  • Provide adequate training in using state-of-the-art manufacturing machinery and
  • Lay the foundation for domestic parts production
  • Provide consulting service base for the local industry and transfer consulting know-how
