The visions of IWRIE-CoE (i.e. what IWRIE aspires to be) are the following:

  • The IWRIE shall be a leading and renowned institute in water resources and irrigation engineering regionally, nationally and internationally.
  • IWRIE’s research programs shall be cutting-edge and interdisciplinary with relevance to the needs of industries and the community at large.
  • The IWRIE shall be a primary learning center in water resources and irrigation engineering at the graduate level and will adapt to the changing educational needs of students.
  • The IWRIE is committed to transferring research findings through its outreach programs to appropriate audiences. (E.g. farmers, regulatory decision-makers, students, scientists, and citizens) to ensure their applications to critical problems
  • The IWRIE shall engage in best practices and technology transfer by linkage and collaboration with regional, national, and international research institutes and industries.
  • The IWRIE is committed to maintaining an active outreach program by offering and facilitating relevant short courses to water resources and irrigation professionals.

Mission

The mission (core purpose) of IWRIE-CoE is to provide scientific leadership in research, PG education and outreach for water resources and irrigation development. By implementing scientific knowledge and imparting that knowledge to fellow scientists, students and the community, the institute shall assist in the resolution of demand-driven issues related to water resources management and irrigation development regionally and nationally.
