In this motivation speech given to UG graduating students he emphasized on the pursuit of self-esteem, attitude and systemic thinking approaches and their motivational implications. He presented his speech in an elegant manner and the students were very happy about the perspectives he highlighted.

Research on self-esteem has mainly focused on people’s level of self-esteem, which entails the overall positivity or negativity towards the self. Contingent self-esteem (CSE) denotes the extent to which people base their self-worth on meeting certain internal or external standards and has been studied as both a global and domain-specific characteristic. He emphasized that as a prospective graduates you should know yourself. Knowing yourself is one of the most important steps in your career journey. To develop career ideas, you need to better understand your interests, values, strengths and skills and how they relate to meaningful work. አንተ የህይወትህ ቀራፂ ነህ ካለዛ ሌላ ሰው በጊዜህ ያቅድበታል፡፡

The second opinion he emphasized was students attitude. A positive attitude can directly impact the trajectory of your career, as you will be more motivated to work hard, try new things and further contribute to an organization's success. Thirdly, he emphasized on systems thinking approach and its implication on motivation. It is an approach based on the belief that the component parts of a system will act differently when isolated from the system’s environment. Standing in contrast to positivist and reductionist thinking, systems thinking sets out to view systems in a holistic manner. Consistent with systems philosophy, systems thinking concerns an understanding of a system by examining the linkages and interactions between the elements that comprise the whole of the system. Systems thinking in practice encourages us to explore inter-relationships (context and connections), perspectives (each actor has their own unique perception of the situation) and boundaries (agreeing on scope, scale and what might constitute an improvement). Systems thinking is particularly useful in addressing complex or wicked problem situations. In line with this, he emphasized on perseverance as an essential element when you need to achieve a high level of success. It doesn’t matter what your goal is or how long it takes you to reach that goal. The chances of your success depend largely on your willingness to persist and persevere.
