Adama Science & Technology University is hosting the 2nd Silk Road Research Symposium on Advanced Manufacturing (SAM2019)!!
The title of the symposium, ‘Silk Road’, is derived from the trade routes established during the 2nd century BC to the 18th C at the beginning of the Han dynasty in China. Silk Road connects Asia with Persia, the Arabian Peninsula, East Africa, and southern Europe. Currently, the Belt & Road global development strategy has been adopted by China to develop infrastructure and investment in Asia, Africa, Europe, the Middle East, and the Americas.
The 2nd Silk Road Research Symposium on Advanced Manufacturing is believed to remind the ancient trade connection between China and silk road countries and strengthen the Belt & Road initiative. The purpose of SAM2019 is to build one communication platform in the field of advanced manufacturing and thereby promote the technology exchange between Ethiopia & China. SAM2019 is the continuation of the 1st China-Vietnam Symposium on Precision Manufacturing (SAM2018) which was held in Vietnam.
In this conference, 15 distinguished professors from China, Australia, and India will make presentations besides the presentations from local researchers. In his opening speech, the guest of honor for the event, the state-minister of MoSHE, Dr. Samuel appreciated ASTU for organizing this timely symposium and underscored the need to communicate the developments to concerned industries in our country. Participants were drawn from industries, ministries & universities.
