Institute of Continuing and Distance Education (ICDE)
Adama Science and Technology University's (ASTU) Continuing and Distance Education has been running the extension program structured as coordinating office. So as to extend service provision and make it self-directory, Continuing and Distance Education Coordinating Office has been upgraded to Institute of Continuing and Distance Education (ICDE) since December 2008. Since then, efforts have been exerted to make the ICDE very competent and leading institute in the country in terms of capacity, efficiency and transparency.
The Institute is responsible for directing all relevant portfolios pertaining to the program of evening (extension), summer and distance education. It is lead by an Institute Director (Academic Director) and has an Administrative Head. The Vice Directors (for academic and administrative affairs) assist the program managers who are responsible to manage course offering, setting programs, instructors assignment and control, and settling student cases.
