Abdulkadir Hussein, the second Ph.D. by Research candidate for ASTU defended his Thesis on Friday 16, 2011.

Abdulkadir's  Ph.D. defense in Geography was attended by ASTU's President Prof. Lee and Vice-Pres. Dr. Assefa and chaired by the Dean of the School of Humanities & Law, Prof. Dr. W. J. Stueber, Germany.

His defense was carried out in front of an international Board of Examiners, including Major Adviser Prof. Ranjan (Haramaya University), Co-Adviser Prof. Domroes (University of Mainz, Germany), Internal Examiner Dr. Setargachew (Dean of ASTU's School of Graduates), and External Examiner Prof. Fuchs (University of Mainz, Germany).

Abdulkadir worked on determining factors for the success and failure of Ethiopian micro-enterprise endeavours and succeeded to convince the Board of Examiners, chaired by the Dean of the School of Humanities & Law,  of his "very good" achievement.

The School of Humanities & Law is determined to further encourage research and Ph.D.-studies in the Humanities and in Law by involving international partners to the benefit of ASTU's reputation.
